Everyone(thing) must at some point rest from the work it is destined to do. This violin placed in its holder will remain silent through the intermission until it once again sings its beautiful song. I enjoy creating mental images in my mind and painting the most important part, this one done with palette knife.
I have been using oil paint to create various scenes and portraits for over 30 years. I still marvel at how colors and shapes form visually appealing paintings. I have traveled from regular brushes to more textured surfaces using a palette knife, and currently am using looser, more sweeping brush strokes. Stephen, I love the story this violon tells. The concert is over, the curtain has come down on act three, refreshments have been served, the audience has filed out, the lone violin stands waiting for the next concerto. Well played Stephen. And thank you so kindly for your terrific wishes on my sale.

Steve this is such a lovely painting. You did a great job making the wood of the Violin look smooth. Not easy to do with a palette knife.
